i've always favored the 8000's over the Iron cobra, but i keep hearing that the 7000's slave pedal catches. i've been playin double bass for a

these pedals are the wave of the future. magnet driven pedals. i remember about 6 years ago high end paintball companies started replacing springs with reverse

This is my review of the 24" Sabian AA Metal-X Ride. First off, like alot of people, I'm into Led Zeppelin and
always wanted to get a 24" ride. The problem was, alot of these rides were either too expensive, or too washy. I
play alot of hard rock and some metal and my band is really loud. I needed something that could cut through

all the racket. So I'm browsing the scratch and dent section of Musician's Friend one day, and lo and behold

Hey everyone, this isn't so much a review as wanting to know about a kit.

I've been looking at a few kits to get, I'm changing from a late 90's Tama Rockstar, and good as it is, I just can't find add-ons to make it
what I want.

So I'm looking at the DDrum Diablo Player. I know it's a near-entry level kit, but it's in my price range and the add-ons are available.
There's one in my local drum shop (Melbourne, Australia), and it's...

So, I bought 2 of the EVANS EC2 coated batter heads. I got them for a few reasons. The first is, I needed some new tom heads, I also had heard some
good things about this new head. The other reason I got them, they look cool! Now, I'd always been under the impression that all tom heads were created
equal, not so. I put them on my 8X10 and 9X12 6 plys, and these things just sing! They sound like toms that are considerably bigger, but I can tune them to
sound smaller also. The...

Okay, I just got some new "toys" and have been using them a bit so I'll give some very general impressions.

I got the Pearl foot pedal Cowbell/Woodblock holder. Very well made, as I usually expect from Pearl (start flaming now). I mounted a Pearl synthetic block on
it, the Yellow one. I think that is what they call the "Medium" size. It seems a bit low and loud for clave but I haven't used it yet in a live
situation so I can't be sure. But, Man!, does...

(Reposted from General DrumRap area; maybe it'll get read here.)
The Pintech Spirit e-kit I play at church has some issues. The module is the DM5. As far as settings go, the balance on all inputs is panned to the center,
because there is only one line for me on the board, and I use the Right channell to feed the board and the Left channel when I want to use a little practice
amp behind my throne so I can hear the drums over the monitor mix. The problem is, on the "drumset"...

I was in Guitar Center recently and noticed a new mag called Drunhead. It comes out bi-monthly and I think it just started this year. Anyway, I picked up
issues 4 and 5 (Neil Peart and Keith Carlock). They come with a cd attached, which is great.

Terrific interviews, great features and photos, even games and puzzles (?). Both my Drum! and Modern Drummer come up soon for renewal; I think I'm going
to let them expire and switch to this new Drumhead and keep Traps as well.

I picked up this book by Rick Latham at a used bookstore recently and have been having fun with it since. What a great little gem. This little book (it's
only 41 pages of exercises) has been around long enough to almost make it a classic.

The patterns are simple yet challenging in a "independence" way. Notice I did not say "interdependence" as it really doesn't teach
that. The reason is that these are good solid timekeeping grooves in the best sense...
