Some of you may remember this cherry stave I did last year (or the year before?). Well it had a few misplaced, very tiny screw holes that just bugged the heck out of me. So I took 'er apart and stripped off the finish. Then I did a little cutting, right over the screw holes. I sank the inlay last night and leveled it tonight. I just put on the first coat of poly and I'll take another in-progress photo of it tomorrow.

Here are some shots of a new kit I'm working on. Basic Keller maples in 16x20 (10 ply), 14x14 (8 ply), 9x12 (6 ply). Also thrown in the pics is a 5x14 8 ply I cut from the same tube as the floor tom. It was an experimental 16 ply that went wrong so I'm using it for practice work and is not slated to be part of the kit.

Above is the 14x14, sanded to 2000 grit, waiting...

13" Oak with Jarrah stripes I just lathed the other week, I like how the two wood tones match up.
I am thinking Oak hoops with a matching Jarrah inlay....hardware, hmmm??? not sure yet...

So... I just refinished two of my kits. The first one is a Truth maple (6-ply) kit. The white wrap was yellowing (most visible on the toms), and it had quite a few scars from touring, so here's the before and after:

Zebrawood stave

Well, I finally got around to finishing one of the drums I've got in the works. This one is a zebrawood stave, shell by JTPCo, hardware from DSH. I did all edges, beds, and drilling myself.

I noticed that there has been some major slackage on the photo love so I'm throwing these on here.

The first one is a snare for Dave Catuccio of a band called Atlantic. It's 14x6.5 ebony satin stain with natural Yamaha wood hoops. 10 ply maple. Dunnet throw.

Next up is a snare we made for my partner in crime here at the Fourth Street camp. 14x7 10 ply...

Hey guys, I havn't posted here in a while but I've been busy building and learning and messin stuff up. Here is my latest snare I build. Its 6x14 acrylic RCI shell. I just finished it last night so I haven't had a lot time to play with it but from the little I have its loud. and no huge glory hole, only one vent. Enjoy!

Heres a kit and a snare for Dan Carey of Welwyn (not Danny Carey. Haha). Both are Sedona red satin. The kit is 14x12, 16x16, 18x18, 24x20 with natural wood hoops and round ego lugs. 8 ply toms. 10 ply kick. The snare is 10 ply with a 6 ply re-reing on the top head only. The top head has a heavily rounded edge and the snare has 3 one inch vents.

New life for BLX kit

Somone really messed up the Birch plies on this Pearl BLX I got from ebay. So, I decided to try black Rustoleum "Hammer" for the color. I have the 11x13 done and it looks great.
