Nest stave project 7x13 maple

The next drum project 7x13 maple, I am starting to get the process down were I can cut the pieces and glue them in the same day then another day for hardware, and 2 more for finishing, as compared to 3 to 4 weeks. I got the hardware drilled and mounted last night so, I haven't been able to take it for a test ride yet. I still need to do the finishing process, but.....chek out the sound at this link

next stave project

My next stave project a 13 x7 1/2 Cherry with Black walnut strip. This is going to a young teen, Landon, with a huge heart for the Lord .
Landon just did a Mural project at my Son-in-Laws church, this will be his payment. Trick stainer, and butt, puresound wires, Evans hazy and dry top, this drum should be sweeeeet!!!l I will post pics...

So I started working on this set a couple weeks ago, I know it is NOTHING like some of the stuff I have seen on here, but I love it, and feel sooo much better about this kit then when I first bought it. Now for the PICS!

the 10 is a bugger to tune but the floor tom is incredible and the kick sounds and feels amazing.
The finish is a lemon yellow dye with a satin clear coat.

this was built for my nephew , it's his first kit also , 22,12,16,14 snare it was a bunch of old shells i got at a thrift store redone with a white faux leather wrap

Hi guys
Long time no post, but here are 2 of 3 staves I am working on. One is a maple 7 x13, the other is a 7 x 13 mahagony with black walnut strips. I just got this router table and it makes cutting perfect staves a breeze. Anyway I will add the finished pics...

Heres a crappy ROXX brand kit a friend of mine purchases for about $150 or so.

It was black wrap with chrome hardware, but that was boring. So, my friend and i stripped it, and re-finished both the drums & hardware:

My friend and I started this project last week, trying to re-finish his kit. We finished the 3 smaller drums last night. We're gonna start on the floor-tom & bass-drum Thursday. Should finish those over the weekend. Then we'll start work on the snare.

Time consuming, but fun. And the work payed off...

New one from Sedona Drum Company

This is a 5.5"x14" titanium snare built to a customer's exact specs, down to almost every last detail. I took some liberties with the shell finish as I did not care for the way it came. The lugs and hoops are not brass but are a special gold e-plating over chrome. The strainer is the standard Nickel. The vent is just placed for the photos as the customer has requested a special badge, which has not been made yet. (Sorry for the poor camera phone pics.)
